Job summary

Kimley-Horn is seeking an experienced CAD Operator to join our Roadway team in Savannah, Georgia. You will develop concepts and create detailed drawings for transportation projects using CAD software.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years of relevant experience, proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products, and a strong work ethic. You will maintain drawing databases, support design efforts, and may supervise CAD staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree preferred.
• 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Advanced knowledge and proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products.
• Detail oriented, professional attitude, good communication, team player, self-starter.
• Strong work ethic, interpersonal communication/writing skills and desire to learn.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Develop concepts and work on preliminary engineering and final design for projects.
• Develop geometric alignments, profiles, surface modeling, cross sections, grading design, drainage, superelevation, construction details, work zone traffic control, erosion control, and signing and striping plans.
• Develop technical drawings and plans using CAD software.
• Make and quality check drawings and plans of substantial complexity and may perform multifaceted calculations.
• Requires minimal supervision to perform day-to-day tasks.
• Has knowledge of engineering principles and suggests design changes.
• Maintains drawing database.
• May supervise and train CAD staff.
• Coordinates work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control.
