You will manage a caseload, draft pleadings, attend hearings, and work closely with senior litigators to develop trial-ready skills in a collaborative, growth-oriented firm.

Qualifications

• Active Georgia Bar license in good standing.
• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school.
• 2–5 years civil litigation experience; defense experience preferred.
• Experience in general liability, premises liability, bodily injury, products liability, or construction-related litigation.
• Ability to manage multiple litigation matters simultaneously.
• Experience drafting pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
• Deposition experience preferred.
• Court appearances, mediation, or trial experience are a plus.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management technology.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage a civil defense caseload with guidance from senior attorneys.
• Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery, and other litigation documents.
• Attend hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings.
• Assist with trial preparation and case strategy.
• Maintain regular communication with clients and opposing counsel.
• Accurately record billable time and meet established billing expectations.
• Deliver high-quality legal services while meeting deadlines and client objectives.

About The Opportunity

An established and growing civil litigation practice is seeking a Civil Defense Litigation Attorney to join its General Liability team in Atlanta, Georgia. This hybrid opportunity is ideal for attorneys with 2–4 years of experience, including newly admitted attorneys looking to build a strong foundation in civil defense litigation.

Working alongside experienced litigators, you'll gain hands‑on experience managing a variety of defense matters, including premises liability, personal injury, and other general liability claims. The firm offers mentorship, professional development, and meaningful courtroom exposure in a collaborative environment.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited law school
• 2–5 years of civil litigation experience; defense experience is preferred but not required
