Attorney – Atlanta

At Hawkins Parnell, you will be immersed in all stages of cases from pre‑suit claim investigation through mediation, arbitration or trial and appeal as part of a team of seasoned attorneys handling professional liability, general liability and commercial coverage cases. There will be a wide range of subject areas and clients providing a broad experience for a talented attorney who wishes to join a success‑driven, vibrant team.

What You Will Be Doing

• Analyzing and summarizing legal documents
• Researching, both legal and of people, businesses, and worksites
• Evaluating cases and strategically developing defenses
• Conducting client meetings and recommending strategies
• Investigating facts, planning, preparing and conducting depositions
• Preparing and arguing motions
• Conducting hearings and mediations
• Preparing witnesses and corporate representatives
• Briefing at trial and appellate courts
• Thinking analytically
• Writing defense mediation summaries

What You Need To Bring

• Actively licensed and in good standing with the State of Georgia
• Critical thinking and research skills
• Strong writing, analytical, and communications skills with superior attention to detail
• 1-5 years’ experience in defense litigation; solid insurance defense experience with professional liability and/or coverage litigation experience a plus
• Ability to thrive in a high‑paced environment, requiring exceptional organizational skills, juggling priorities, and adhering to strict deadlines
• Must be a self‑starter who can handle multiple projects with competing priorities and understand the importance of deadlines

• Ability to review and interpret financial records is a plus
