Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Laborer to assist with material handling, assembling and dismantling equipment, and preparing work areas. You will support various crafts by supplying materials and keeping workspaces clean, with involvement in scaffolding and concrete-related tasks.

Ideal candidates have construction experience, familiarity with hand and power tools, and a collaborative, safety-conscious approach. This full-time, on-site role offers comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Laborer

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Laborer that will be responsible for assisting with material handling, assembling and dismantling of equipment, preparing work areas, and cleaning of machines and workspaces.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Load and unload equipment
• Prepare, handle, and supply materials and tools to be used by other crafts
• Clean work area, machines, and equipment
• Erect and dismantle scaffolding (5X7X16) and staging
• Level ground for scaffolding
• Tend motor and grout: lift, unload, move, set, and shovel between wheelbarrows and buckets
• General cleanup and clearing of debris, including sweeping, cleaning, washing, and loading or burning of debris
• Place, push, pull, and shovel concrete
• Vibrate concrete
• Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
• All other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience in construction preferred
• Ability to work with tools and equipment such as power and non-powered hand tools, vibrators, pumps, drills, and jackhammers; forklifts, skid loaders, and power buggies
• Strong teamwork orientation; positive attitude and professional customer service skills; detail orientation; active listening skills and effective communication, including an openness to diverse input and feedback
• Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
• *Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
