Job summary

The City of Claremore is seeking a Water Maintenance Technician I and/or II to join the Water Department. This hourly, non-exempt role involves maintenance, inspection, and repair of water and sewer systems, with responsibilities ranging from locating utilities to operating construction equipment.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED, 1–2 years’ water/sewer experience, and a CDL Class B with air brake endorsement or the ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 1–2 years of water/sewer system experience preferred.
• CDL Class B with air brake endorsement or ability to obtain one.
• Must be insurable with City’s carrier and obtain required state certificate.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and repair water and sewer distribution systems.
• Maintain records of inspections and maintenance activities.
• Locate utilities before excavation and coordinate with residents about shutdowns.
• Operate and maintain a range of equipment and tools used in water/sewer work.
• Perform safety and security duties and assist in project tasks as part of a crew.
