Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking an experienced Designer (Civil 3D) to join one of our NC offices (Charlotte, Raleigh, Wilmington, Asheville) or several TN/SC sites. The role focuses on CAD drafting for environmental, civil and geotechnical projects, including landfill cells, dams, stormwater, and remediation work.

You will develop grading plans, Plan & Profile, sections, and details, collaborate with CADD teams, and contribute from design through construction.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Drafting with 5+ years civil engineering experience.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D (latest release) is required.
• Experience with Revit is preferred; familiarity with Civil 3D-Revit interoperability.
• Experience handling survey data, grading plans, alignments, and earthwork calculations.
• Ability to read redline drawings and interpret engineer instructions.
• Strong mathematical and geometric reasoning.
• Proficient MS Office (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Civil/Environmental landfill, roadway, and stormwater design experience preferred.
• Civil 3D certification preferred.
• Willingness to take Civil 3D assessment.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and finalize design plans and details using Geosyntec standards.
• Visualize civil/geotechnical concepts and translate to design drawings.
• Interpret sketches and inputs to determine best grading or modeling approaches.
• Manage production of drawing sets from creation to modification.
• Collaborate with other CADD practitioners to ensure quality work.
• Support CAD standards improvements across the company.
