Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking an experienced Designer (Civil 3D) to join our offices in Charlotte, Raleigh, Asheville, Wilmington, Mt. Pleasant, and southeastern TN.

You will support civil, geotechnical, and environmental projects through CAD drafting, creating grading plans, plan & profile, sections, and details. Candidates should have an associate degree in Drafting and at least five years in civil engineering, with AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency and Revit experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Drafting and a minimum of five years related experience in a professional civil engineering setting.
• Proficiency in the latest release of AutoCAD Civil 3D.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit (preferred) and Civil 3D–Revit interoperability (preferred).
• Experience developing and working with survey data, grading plans, cross-sections, alignments, profiles, and earthwork volumes for landfills and large civil projects.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret red line drawings from Engineers, CAD Managers, or others on the project team.
• Experience using land or aerial surveying data and files.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and finalize design plans and details to Geosyntec standards.
• Understand and visualize civil/geotechnical concepts and translate to drawings.
• Analyze sketches to determine best approach for grading or modeling tasks.
• Manage drawing set production from creation, markup and modification.
• Collaborate with other CADD practitioners to ensure quality.
• Support CAD standards and workflows across the company.
