Job summary

Geosyntec Consultants is seeking an experienced Designer (Civil 3D) to support multiple environmental, civil and geotechnical projects across several offices in the Southeast U.S. The role involves CAD drafting, grading layouts, plan & profile, and details for infrastructure, landfills and remediation projects.

Qualifications include an Associate's in Drafting with 5+ years in a civil engineering setting, AutoCAD Civil 3D proficiency, and strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or equivalent with 5+ years of civil engineering drafting experience.
• Proficiency in the latest release of AutoCAD Civil 3D is required.
• Experience with Autodesk Revit is preferred.
• Experience with interoperability between Civil 3D and Revit is preferred.
• Experience developing grading plans, alignments, profiles, and earthwork for landfills and large civil projects is required.
• Ability to read and interpret red-line drawings and to work from survey data.
• Experience using land or aerial survey data and GIS/mapping files is required.
• Strong math, reasoning, and geometrical skills are essential.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel) is required.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills are essential.
• Civil/Environmental experience with landfills, roadways, and stormwater infrastructure is preferred.
• Autodesk Civil 3D certification or the ability to obtain it within one year is preferred.
• Candidates may be asked to complete a Civil 3D assessment or homework.

Responsibilities

• Draft, edit, and finalize design plans and details per drafting standards.
• Visualize civil/geotechnical concepts and translate to drawings.
• Analyze sketches and notes to determine best design approaches.
• Manage production of drawing sets from creation to modification.
• Collaborate with CAD team to ensure quality of drawings.
• Participate in CAD standards and workflows improvements across the company.
