Job summary

The Democratic National Committee (DNC) invites applications for its Spring 2027 Civic Engagement and Voter Protection Legal Internship Program. Interns will gain hands-on experience in election law, research, and outreach during state legislative sessions and the lead-up to the Democratic Primary.

Based in the United States, the internship runs January 11, 2027 to March 19, 2027 with a $3,700 stipend. In-person work is available in Washington, DC, with hybrid or remote options for others.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. law school.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Available to commit 20 hours per week during the internship.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Manager of Civic Engagement and Voter Protection
• Attend mandatory onboarding/offboarding sessions;
• Conduct legal research;
• Draft legal memoranda;
• Organize events;
• Assist the Civic Engagement and Voter Protection team with managing the year-round Voter Assistance Hotline;
• Develop Civic Engagement and Voter Protection explanatory resources, voting rights advocacy materials, and voter education trainings;
• Support our volunteer efforts.
