Job summary

The Democratic National Committee is offering a Summer 2027 Civic Engagement and Voter Protection Legal Internship Program. It seeks law students for hands-on work in research, writing, events, and voter-protection initiatives.

The term runs May 31, 2027 to August 6, 2027. Interns may work in-person, hybrid, or remotely from within the United States, with some in Washington, D.C. housing not provided and a $3,700 stipend awarded for the term.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.
• Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. law school.
• Applicants must complete at least one year of law school before applying.
• Commitment of 20 hours per week during the program.
• Physically present in the United States to participate in this internship.

Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Manager of Civic Engagement and Voter Protection.
• Attend mandatory onboarding/offboarding sessions.
• Conduct legal research.
• Draft legal memoranda.
• Organize events.
• Assist the Voter Protection Hotline and related resources.
• Develop voter education materials and outreach content.
• Support volunteer efforts.
