Job summary

Generation Citizen is seeking a Program Manager, South to support civic education across states like North Carolina, Kentucky, Oklahoma, and Texas. The role involves coaching educators, delivering professional development, and ensuring high-quality delivery of GC's community-based civics curriculum.

You will collaborate with the South Senior Program Director and regional/national teams on strategic initiatives, with travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

2+ years of classroom teaching experience at the middle or high school level in the humanities.
Experience in education policy is strongly preferred, but not required.
Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to maintain professionalism with diverse stakeholders.
Strong presentation skills, capable of effectively communicating complex data and strategies to diverse audiences.
Strong time management skills and an ability to stay organized and manage diverse tasks, activities, and projects.
Proficiency in spreadsheet software (Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets), familiarity with Google Suite applications, and experience with design tools like Canva.
Strong working knowledge of the South region’s education and policy landscape via civic or policy engagement.
This person should be based in North Carolina, able to commute to districts throughout, and have reliable transportation.
Ability to adhere to local COVID-19 policies at various sites.

Responsibilities

Manage a caseload of teacher, school, and district relationships in diverse communities within GC's national plan and local priorities.
Serve as an instructional coach for GC South Region teachers and remote national teachers to support curriculum, pedagogy, and equitable learning practices.
Lead pedagogical professional development workshops with Local and National staff.
Create and manage regular teacher communication and coaching plans with the South Region program team.
Steward and build strong relationships with district partners toward multi-year partnerships and community-based civics.
Collaborate with the Director, Evaluation & Learning, to use UpMetrics to track, analyze, and report on program data.
Contribute to overall site program and quality goals.
Coordinate and lead external presentations, workshops, and Civics Day events with the Program Director.
Partner with Communications to develop external branding and marketing materials.
