Job summary

The City of Arvada is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead the citywide purchasing program and shape how public resources are managed. The role combines procurement expertise, leadership, and collaboration to develop innovative purchasing strategies, strengthen vendor partnerships, and advise departments on complex solicitations and contracts.

Essential duties include administering procurement policies, developing strategic purchasing for citywide contracts, overseeing ERP

Qualifications

Five (5) years’ experience in governmental/public sector purchasing.
Three (3) or more years at a supervisory level.
CPM/CPPO certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Interpret, modify and administer procurement policies to ensure compliance across city departments.
Develop procurement strategies for citywide contracts and consolidated buying.
Advise departments on solicitation methods and contract issues.
Manage ERP purchasing module—development, training, support and maintenance.
Review bid/proposal documents and sole source/ emergency justifications for approvals.
Foster relationships with departments and vendors to ensure needs are met and best practices followed.
