Job summary

The City of Arvada seeks an experienced Purchasing Manager to lead its citywide purchasing program, shaping how public resources are managed. You will oversee procurement operations, administer the purchasing and contracts ordinance, and guide departments on complex solicitations and contracts.

You will develop strategies for consolidated/volume buying, strengthen vendor partnerships, improve processes, and manage the ERP purchasing module.

Qualifications

• Five years’ experience in governmental/public sector purchasing.
• Three or more years at a supervisory level.

Responsibilities

• Directs the City’s Purchasing Program including administering the City’s purchasing and contracts ordinance.
• Develops procurement strategies for the implementation of effective citywide contracts to maximize the value of budgeted tax dollars through consolidated/volume buying methods.
• Oversees the development of improved methods that enhance purchasing, supply and purchase order administration functions.
• Advises and assists other city staff with the development and review of solicitation methods.
