Job summary

The City of Manhattan is seeking a Building Maintenance Supervisor to plan, coordinate, and supervise maintenance, repair, operation, and appearance of City buildings and facilities. You will oversee maintenance staff, schedule work, conduct inspections, and ensure safe, compliant operations across multiple sites.

Responsibilities include preventive and corrective maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, locksmithing), contractor management, records, and a city-wide master key system.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree and 3 years of building maintenance experience or a high school diploma and 5 years of building maintenance experience
• Valid driver’s license
• Technical HVAC education and certifications are preferred

Responsibilities

• Perform operational checks of building systems and maintenance work.
• Travel between sites to complete daily tasks and checks.
• Plan, prioritize, and coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, locksmithing).
• Inspect buildings, grounds, and equipment for safety and proper function.
• Maintain records and manage lock system master keys city-wide.
• Supervise maintenance staff and manage schedules and training.
• Manage service contracts and bid documents for projects.
