Job summary

The role guides engineering policy to city leadership, delivering infrastructure improvements and ensuring responsible use of public funds. A GA PE license and strong leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Georgia.
• Demonstrated knowledge of standard engineering principles and practices (GDOT, AASHTO, MUTCD).
• Experience managing transportation and capital improvement projects from planning through implementation.
• Experience managing budgets for capital projects and engineering services.
• Experience procuring and managing consultant and contractor services.
• Experience working with public agencies and community stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Lead planning, implementation, and delivery of transportation and capital improvement projects from initiation through design and construction.
• Develop and manage annual budgets for engineering services and capital improvement programs.
• Recommend and administer a 10-year Capital Improvement Program.
• Manage SPLOST transportation funding programs (six-year, $32M).
• Coordinate with GDOT and external partners on transportation initiatives.
