Job summary

City of Decatur is seeking an Operations Analyst to join the City Manager’s Office. The role manages analytical and administrative duties, leads the performance measurements team, and supports budget coordination while engaging with the public and management staff.

The position requires a bachelor's degree (master's preferred) and at least two years in local government management, with strong PC and communication skills. Regular hours are Mon-Fri, with some evenings/weekends as duties require.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least 2 years of increasingly responsible experience in local government management.
• Skilled in operating a PC with word processing, spreadsheets, and database management software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the annual budget development process including data entry for workbook material and distribution to department heads.
• Lead the Performance Measurements Team and manage city dashboard modules.
• Transcribe minutes for City Commission meetings and prepare memoranda for proposals.
• Prepare presentations for City Commission work sessions and respond to public/official requests.
• Collaborate with departments and outside agencies to improve operations and report status to Assistant City Manager.
• Represent the department on interdepartmental teams and cultivate positive public relations.
