City of Apache Junction is seeking a Communications and Media Specialist to create content for city departments, update social channels, and produce city videos. The role includes managing the government access channel, coordinating design assets, and assisting with outreach campaigns.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Journalism, or related field and at least four years of full-time relevant experience. On-site work in Apache Junction, AZ is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Media production or related field.
• Four (4) years paid fulltime experience in web design, government access television, broadcasting, media coverage, communications, facilitating neighborhood associations and community outreach programs; or an equivalent combination.

Responsabilités

• Content and media creation to support city departments and initiatives, including websites, social media, electronic communication tools, video and photo production, copy writing, graphic design, print materials, and email campaigns.
• Manage the city’s government cable access channel and digital communication platforms, including meeting streaming, brand continuity, photo and video editing, website updates, social media content creation, asset management, and overall content strategy, creation, and maintenance.
• Assist with the creation of digital and print design assets to promote the city and its events through civic engagement and information distribution.
• Maintain studio, photo, video, audio-visual, and broadcast equipment; manage software licensing, repairs, warranty information, and procurement of replacements.
• Prepare requests for proposals, review qualifications; bid on cable agreements, technology equipment, cable channel video, web streaming and agenda management programs.
• Perform administrative tasks; support department goals, manage budget preparation and department purchases, cable franchise policy agreements, and community outreach events; support project management.
• Produce city videos including storyboarding, planning, scripting, filming, editing, and posting.
• Support city policies and objectives; ensure safety procedures are followed.
