Job summary

The City of Pasadena seeks a Multimedia Specialist to craft compelling visual narratives for the Community Relations Department. You will shoot and edit videos, capture photography, and design graphics for social media, events, and campaigns, strengthening the City’s brand.

Collaborate with Public Information to develop campaigns across social media, emergency communications, economic development, and community engagement, delivering engaging content while ensuring branding consistency.

Qualifications

• Requires an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Multimedia Production, Digital Media, Film, Graphic Design, or related field.
• 2–5 years of professional multimedia, photography, videography, communications, marketing, journalism, media production, or agency experience.
• Portfolio demonstrating photography, videography, editing, and visual storytelling abilities across formats (social, campaigns, interviews, events, branded content).
• Preferred FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate and relevant certifications (e.g., Adobe Certified Professional, Apple Certified Pro).
• Experience with live video production and/or live streaming; government/public relations context is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Plan, shoot, and edit video content for social media, campaigns, and city initiatives.
• Capture professional photography at events, programs, and facilities; maintain organized archives.
• Create graphics and motion graphics aligned with city branding for digital channels and meetings.
• Develop stories and campaigns with cross-department teams; assist with content calendars.
