Job summary

The City of Grand Rapids seeks an experienced IT executive to lead information technology and telecommunications systems, directing strategic planning, procurement, and coordination of staff and contractors to sustain a modern enterprise IT operation. You will establish roadmaps, track metrics, and oversee budgets while partnering with business units to leverage technology for better services.

Required are a bachelor’s degree and at least seven years of managerial IT experience; ITIL

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, business or public administration or related field.
• At least seven years of managerial IT experience.
• Equivalent combination of training, education and experience accepted.

Responsibilities

• Set long-term strategic IT direction and oversee delivery and implementation.
• Procure hardware, software and services; manage vendor contracts.
• Develop strategic IT plans, budget forecasts and capital requests.
• Lead PMO staff and drive change management across departments.
• Enhance citywide BI capabilities and IT security/telephony infrastructure.
