Job summary

The City of Pilot Point seeks a City Engineer and Director of Engineering to lead the Engineering Department, oversee capital projects, development reviews, and public infrastructure. You will coordinate with Public Works, Planning, Finance, and the City Attorney to maintain standards and deliver projects.

The position requires a Civil Engineering degree, PE license in Texas, 8+ years of municipal/engineering experience, and 3+ years of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Eight years of progressively responsible civil engineering experience.
• Three years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience.
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Texas; maintain licensure.
• CFM certification, or ability to obtain certification within one year.
• A valid Texas driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Direct the Engineering Department and assigned staff; set priorities and manage contracted services.
• Serve as the City's principal civil engineering advisor to leadership and boards; provide technical recommendations on infrastructure and development matters.
• Maintain and update Design and Construction Standards, procedures, and specifications; document changes.
• Oversee capital improvement planning and coordinate with Public Works and other departments.
