Job summary

West Star Aviation is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician for the 2nd shift in East Alton, IL. You’ll work on repairing and maintaining some of the world’s most sophisticated civilian aircraft, performing inspections, troubleshooting systems, and supporting engine removal or installation as needed.

Qualifications

• Airframe or Powerplant license required; Airframe license preferred.
• 0-2 years aviation maintenance or related.
• 2-4 years aviation maintenance experience preferred; corporate aircraft experience preferred but not essential.
• 4-6+ years aviation maintenance experience; full knowledge of assignments.
• FAA guidelines compliance essential; supervision details vary by level.

Responsibilities

• Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
• Removal and installation of panels and components.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft system/component issues.
• De-fueling aircraft.
• Engine removal/installations.
• Operating ground support equipment.
• Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components.
• Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing.
• Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling.
• Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals and maintenance databases.
• Effectively and clearly communicate in English.
• Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
