Job summary

West Star Aviation Inc. is seeking an Aircraft Maintenance Technician on the Weekend Shift in East Alton, IL. You will perform mechanical work, troubleshoot systems, and support inspections on civilian aircraft with growth opportunities and strong benefits.

You will operate ground support equipment, replace panels, and assist with engine work while maintaining safety and FAA guidelines. High school diploma and valid licenses are required.

Qualifications

• Airframe or Powerplant license is required; Airframe license is preferred.
• 0-2 years of experience in aviation maintenance, avionics, or similar.
• These technicians have limited to moderate knowledge of general maintenance aspects.
• Technicians require close supervision of general maintenance tasks.
• 2-4 years of experience in aviation maintenance; corporate aircraft experience preferred but not essential.
• 4-6+ years of experience in aviation maintenance; corporate aircraft experience highly preferred.
• 6+ years’ experience; Master level with extensive corporate aircraft experience.
• AMT IV (Master) requires both Airframe and Powerplant licenses.

Responsibilities

• Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft and related systems.
• Removal and installation of panels and components.
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving aircraft system/component issues.
• De-fueling aircraft.
• Engine removal/installations.
• Operating ground support equipment.
• Inspection and evaluation of the aircraft and components.
• Aircraft movement and assistance in performance runs/taxiing.
• Maintenance and repair of shop facility, equipment and tooling.
• Basic computer skills to navigate electronic training, manuals, and maintenance databases.
• Effectively and clearly communicate in English.
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor or management.
