Job summary

The City of Pearland, TX is seeking a full-time CIP Project Manager/Project Engineer to lead and improve day-to-day operations within the Engineering and Public Works department’s CIP division. This role is customer-facing and fast-paced, with a competitive salary and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in municipal government or related agency work.
• Experience performing quality control from inception to completion.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong planning, organizing, and coordination of engineers and contractors.
• PM certification (PMP) or ability to obtain within 2 years.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• BS/BA degree in construction, engineering or infrastructure project management.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates review of plans and designs for capital projects; facilitates design kick-off and review through PER/30% phase, 60%, 90%, and 100% plans.
• Develops project scope, cost, schedule, and budget estimates; monitors personnel and consultants to accomplish work.
• Manages design process and ensures deliverables meet milestones; secures project right of way during design phase.
• Directs construction oversight of consultants, surveyors, test labs, contractors, and administrative staff; conducts progress meetings.
• Drafts regular project updates to city manager, council, and public.
• Recommends selection and coordinates work of contractors; monitors project schedule and budget.
