Job summary

East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania is seeking Student Mentors for the CILLS program to provide support and learning experiences to individuals with intellectual disabilities. Mentors will work 10-20 hours per week with day/evening shifts and Saturdays.

Compensation is $10.00 per hour. Responsibilities include assisting with socialization, academics, daily living skills, chores, cooking, attending campus events, completing homework, and studying.

• Report incidents to CILLS staff.
• Document shift activities.
• Ensure safety and wellbeing during the shift.

CILLS Fall & Spring Student Mentor

East Stroudsburg University's Career, Independent Living and Learning Studies (CILLS) Program through the Department of Special Education and Rehabilitation is currently seeking dynamic individuals to serve as their Student Mentors to provide support and learning experiences to individuals with intellectual disabilities.

The Student Mentors will be responsible for:

• Providing support and learning experiences to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
• Supporting the students from 4:00PM-9:00PM on weekdays with socialization, academic, and daily living skills.
• For example, chores, cooking, attending campus events, completing homework, studying, etc.
• Supporting the students from 11:00AM-4:00PM or 4:00PM-9:00PM on weekends with socialization, academic, and daily living skills. For example, chores, cooking, attending campus events, completing homework, studying, etc.
• Supporting the students in making good and healthy decisions on their own.
• Reporting any incidents that happen during their shift with the students to the CILLS Staff.
• Documenting what they did during their shift with the students.
• The safety and wellbeing of the students during their shift.

Additional Information:

• Student Mentors will work 10-20 hours per week - hours are flexible and may include day and/or evening shifts, and weekends. Saturday rotation is required.
• $10.00 per hour
