Job summary

Cox in Irvine is seeking a student intern to help build and manage enterprise platforms and automation across public and private clouds. You will gain hands-on experience with CI/CD, infrastructure tooling, and security monitoring while contributing to real projects.

You'll work with mentors, collaborate with delivery and operations teams, and learn how modern software is built and delivered at scale.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BA/BS degree in computer science or related field.
• Passion for technology, reverse engineering and coding.
• Collaborative attitude and strong communication skills.
• Experience with Windows/Linux, containers and databases.
• Experience with source code, build, deploy, orchestration and config management tools.
• Experience in writing code and scripts in at least one high-level language.
• Automation focus to reduce manual work.
• Familiarity with AWS and agile concepts (Scrum/Kanban).
• Interest in secure and scalable applications.
• Familiarity with AI tools for testing and automation.

Responsibilities

• Develop automation for infrastructure provisioning and procedures used across environments.
• Document new development, procedures or test plans as needed.
• Help develop and follow security and engineering standards.
• Build tools and pipelines to enable CI/CD for all environments.
• Automate code packaging, deployment and configuration management processes.
• Gather feedback from delivery and operations teams to improve throughput and quality.
• Monitor system and service performance and escalate as needed.
• Leverage AI tools to assist in productivity, testing, and automation.
