Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville and Davidson County seeks the CHYM Senior Director of Engineering to guide engineering components for the CHYM capital program. The role drives alignment of right-of-way, utilities, and traffic infrastructure with Metro agencies, state, and federal partners.

The position emphasizes collaborative problem solving, advanced project management, and leadership in engineering standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related technical field from an accredited college or university.
• Ten or more years of progressively responsible post-degree engineering experience.
• Strong knowledge of civil/traffic engineering principles and city design.
• Experience coordinating with multiple Metro agencies and project management.

Responsibilities

• Serves as key consulted engineer for CHYM capital projects from planning through construction closeout.
• Coordinates with Metro departments and partners to implement CHYM.
• Ensures engineering elements align with decisions and standards across projects.
• Leads development and deployment of CHYM standards, specs, and processes.
• Communicates project status to leadership and stakeholders.
