Job summary

New Mexico Department of Health is seeking a Southern Coordinator for the Office of Community Health Workers to coordinate state CHW certification in Southern New Mexico, support recruitment, and deliver trainings across communities.

The role will develop partnerships with CHW organizations and rural providers, promote workforce development, and facilitate coordination with Medicaid and certification stakeholders throughout the state.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree and two years of experience in program administration or project management, or four years combined education/experience
  • Lived understanding of Southern NM geographic and social realities; cultural humility and ability to work with diverse communities
  • Driver's License; Defensive Driving Certificate; Background Investigation requirements

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate, direct, and deliver CHW state certification in Southern New Mexico
  • Support CHW workforce recruitment activities during community events in Southern NM
  • Identify and deliver content-specific trainings for CHWs/CHW-Rs monthly or as needed in Southern NM
  • Develop and strengthen social service and health care networks for CHWs in Southern NM and neighboring areas
  • Engage Southern communities to align efforts addressing social determinants of health and resource allocation
  • Plan workplans for state certification and recruitment activities, training and outreach
  • Develop and implement statewide CHW strategic plan components: regulations, workforce development, data systems, and engagement
