Job summary

The Early Childhood Educator - Preschool Teacher at Wheeler Mission Ministries supports children in infant to preschool ages in a therapeutic, Christ-centered Compass Kids program. You will co-teach, implement trauma-informed, developmentally appropriate curricula, and communicate daily with families and staff.

This full-time role requires 1+ year experience with young children, a high school diploma (or equivalent), and CDA certification during employment.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ years of experience working with young children.
• Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.
• Must have or obtain a CDA Certification during employment.
• Experience in school or family recovery settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach in a therapeutic classroom environment within the Compass Kids Program at the Center for Women and Children.
• Implement developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and Christ-centered approaches.
• Use evidence-based curriculum and sensory tools in educational activities.
• Communicate effectively and clearly with children, parents, coworkers, and volunteers.
• Ensure the program meets the needs of the children in a Christ-centered, strengths-focused, and trauma-informed manner.
• Provide daily communication to parents and Compass Kids staff outlining daily events.
