Job summary

Wheeler Mission Ministries centers its Center for Women and Children in Indianapolis with an Early Childhood Educator II role. You will co-teach in a therapeutic classroom within Compass Kids, supporting infants, toddlers and preschoolers in a Christ-centered, trauma-informed setting.

The position requires nurturing instruction, strong family communication, and data management to support ongoing accreditation and program goals. 40 hours weekly, daytime shifts.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of experience working with young children.
• Must have an associate degree or CDA.
• Experience in trauma, poverty or homelessness settings is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach in a therapeutic classroom within the Compass Kids Program at the Center for Women and Children.
• Implement developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and Christ-centered approaches.
• Use evidence-based curriculum and sensory tools in educational activities.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, coworkers, and volunteers.
• Manage and monitor student data from each classroom.
• Ensure the program meets Christ-centered, trauma-informed needs.
• Provide daily communication to parents and Compass Kids staff.
• Assist with accreditation documents and program meetings.
• Oversee community engagement and mentor Level I staff.
• Coordinate and oversee daily activities within Early Childhood Center.
