Job summary

Wheeler Mission Ministries in Indianapolis, IN seeks a Toddler Lead Teacher to co-teach a therapeutic classroom in the Compass Kids Program. You will support infants through preschoolers in a Christ-centered, trauma-informed setting, applying developmentally appropriate activities and sensory tools.

The role requires 2+ years with young children and an associate degree or CDA. You will collaborate with staff and families while upholding mission values and program policies.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of experience working with young children.
• Associate degree or CDA required.
• Experience in a school or family recovery setting preferred.
• Experience with children affected by trauma, poverty and/or homelessness preferred.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach in a therapeutic classroom environment within the Compass Kids Program at the Center for Women and Children.
• Implement developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and Christ-centered approaches.
• Use evidence-based curriculum and sensory tools in educational activities.
• Communicate effectively with children, parents, coworkers, and volunteers.
• Manage and monitor student data from each classroom.
