Job summary

Wheeler Mission Ministries is seeking a Substitute Teacher - Early Childhood Educator to co-teach in a therapeutic Compass Kids classroom at the Center for Women and Children in Indianapolis. You will support infants through preschoolers in a Christ-centered, trauma-informed setting.

Qualifications

• Must have 1+ years of experience working with young children.
• Must have a high school diploma, or equivalent.
• Must have or obtain a CDA Certification during employment.
• Experience in school or family recovery setting preferred.
• Understanding of trauma-informed approaches preferred.

Responsibilities

• Co-teach in a therapeutic classroom within Compass Kids Program at CWC.
• Implement developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, Christ-centered approaches.
• Utilize evidence-based curriculum and sensory tools in activities.
• Communicate clearly with children, parents, coworkers and volunteers.
• Assist in program support and daily communications to families.
• Adhere to Wheeler Mission policies and Indiana Code requirements.
