Job summary

Wheeler Mission Ministries is seeking an Early Childhood Educator II to co-teach in a therapeutic classroom within the Compass Kids Program at the Center for Women and Children in Indianapolis. This role focuses on nurturing infants to preschoolers using trauma-informed, Christ-centered approaches.

Qualifications

• Must have 2+ years of experience working with young children.
• Must have an associate degree or Child Development Associate (CDA).
• Experience working within a school or family recovery setting (preferred).
• Working knowledge of children who have been impacted by trauma, poverty and/or homelessness (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Co-teach in a therapeutic classroom environment within the Compass Kids Program at the Center for Women and Children.
• Implement developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, and Christ-centered approaches.
• Use evidence-based curriculum and sensory tools in educational activities.
• Communicate effectively and clearly with children, parents, coworkers, and volunteers.
• Manage and monitor student data from each of the classrooms.
• Oversee community engagement through the Compass Kids Program.
