Job summary

Citi is seeking a seasoned Head of Operations to establish and lead the new China brokerage's operational framework in Shanghai. You will design and implement processes, systems, and governance to ensure efficiency, compliance, and scalability from day one.

The role demands deep knowledge of China's securities market, regulatory landscape, and a hands-on leadership style to build a world-class operations function with strong partner collaboration and risk controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration or related field.
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese is mandatory; professional English is highly preferred.
• Experience leading operations for a securities firm in mainland China is essential.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute end-to-end operational strategy for the new brokerage.
• Set up operational infrastructure including clearing, settlement, custody, and client services.
• Ensure compliance with CSRC, SAFE and other authorities; establish internal controls and risk management.
• Build and lead a high-performing operations team; drive continuous improvement.
• Oversee trade capture, confirmation, clearing and settlement for equities; manage cash and securities financing.
• Onboard clients with efficient KYC and account opening processes.
• Manage relationships with exchanges, clearing houses, custodians, and vendors.
