Naperville Public Library seeks a Children’s Services Associate to provide reference and Readers’ Advisory in the Children’s Department. The role supports customers with digital and print resources, plans programs for children, and assists with collection management and outreach activities.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s degree or have 5 years related experience, and bilingual ability is a plus. Strong customer service and presentation skills are essential to engage diverse patrons.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university; or minimum 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Bilingual proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide reference and Reader’s Advisory assistance for customers.
• Explain and assist users in using print and electronic resources.
• Plan and conduct programs for children; develop new concepts and themes.
• Assist with collection management and displays.
• Prepare reports and statistics for management review.
