Job summary

Children’s Wisconsin is seeking a Children’s Ambassador to be the first smiling face of the visit, ensuring a safe, supportive, and uplifting experience for families and children.

You will welcome visitors, guide them through the facility, assist with transportation needs, and help maintain accessibility by stocking wheelchairs and carts. This role emphasizes empathy, communication, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  • At least one year of customer service experience, including conflict management.
  • Understanding of developmental needs across all age groups—from neonatal to adult.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and prioritization skills.
  • Confidence and composure in stressful situations, with the ability to diffuse negativity.
  • Critical thinking skills to make independent decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Bilingual abilities preferred.
  • CPR certification (Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers) required within 90 days of hire.

  • Keep us moving: Stock and move wheelchairs, strollers, and carts to ensure accessibility across the facility.

What You’ll Do

What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.

Scheduling Requirements
  • On-call shift: Required approximately once every two weeks. This is a paid “stand by” shift for illness replacement. Coverage includes 1st and 2nd shift on Saturday and Sunday. 3rd shift on-call coverage is required seven days a week.
  • Weekend availability: Every other weekend is required.
  • Holiday rotation: Participation in a holiday rotation is required.
