Community Family Advocates is seeking a Family Specialist for the Early Learning Resource Center in Allegheny County. The role handles eligibility determinations for subsidized childcare, explains policies, supports families with enrollment, and acts as the contact for families.

The position requires a high school diploma or higher, 37.5 hours per week, in-person at the Wood Street office, and background checks. The role emphasizes confidentiality and customer service across diverse families.

• Excellent customer service skills and professionalism.
• Ability to listen to clients' queries patiently and respond promptly.
• Knowledge of customer service ethics, principles, and procedures.
• Ability to manage Outlook email and navigate the Internet.
• Excellent computer skills including data entry and creating pdfs.
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize work tasks.
• Ability to maintain electronic records and documents according to agency policies.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with families and staff.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Responsabilidades

• Provide an explanation of ELRC services and childcare subsidies to families.
• Interview and support families to obtain information and determine eligibility.
• Respond to family inquiries by phone or email within 24 hours.
• Process applications and redeterminations to ensure timely eligibility.
• Assist families with selection and enrollment in a childcare setting and provide parent education.
