Job summary

Green Leaves Early Learning is seeking a part-time kitchen assistant to support the Centre Chef in preparing nutritious meals and purees for babies and children in a welcoming early-learning environment in Victoria. You will help with culinary classes and ensure food safety and clean kitchen practices.

This role requires flexibility to step into the Chef’s role at times (6:30 am–2:30 pm, Monday–Friday) and a commitment to the centre’s wellbeing and development programs.

Qualifications

• Food safety certification required.
• Working with children checks required.
• First aid and CPR certification required.
• National police clearance obtained within 6 months.

Responsibilities

• Support the Centre Chef in preparing a wide variety of nutritious meals and purees, including dietary requirements for babies and children.
• Provide thoughtful culinary classes with the Centre Chef and Educators.
• Maintain high food safety and a clean, safe kitchen per Food Act and centre standards.
• Assist in running the kitchen smoothly with strong time management and communication.
