Job summary

Learning Care Group is seeking a Food Specialist to manage kitchen operations for a childcare center. You will plan home-style, nutritious meals, prepare dishes for children and staff, and ensure compliance with menus and regulations while maintaining inventory and supporting classroom needs.

The role emphasizes health and safety, flexibility in scheduling, and collaboration with the Director to meet USDA and licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Experience cooking for multiple individuals in childcare is preferred.
• Willingness to learn and adhere to state/local regulations.
• Flexibility with hours and schedule.

Responsibilities

• Create home-style, nutritional meal plans within menu and budget, and prepare meals/snacks for children and staff.
• Follow daily menu per Director, incorporating USDA/licensing/health dept regs.
• Maintain inventory of food and supplies and reorder as needed.
• Assist in classrooms as needed as an Assistant Teacher/Floater.
