Job summary

YMCA of the Northern Sky in Fargo, ND is hiring a Childcare Food Service staff member to prepare and serve meals in one of our Early Learning Centers. You will follow menus, keep inventory, manage daily paperwork, and assist in classrooms as needed, while engaging with children aged infants to five years.

Qualifications

• At least 18 years old.
• 6 months of food service experience.

Responsibilities

• Follow pre-established menus in accordance with state and federal regulations and, when necessary, make changes to the menu that are compliant with the food program.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of food and supplies and ensure that the kitchen is neat and organized.
• Be responsible for daily paperwork, meal counts, temperature checks, etc.
• Occasionally assist in the Early Learning Center classrooms, as needed. Must be comfortable working with children (infants to five years old).

Description

The Childcare Food Service staff is responsible for preparing and serving meals in one of the YMCA's 5 YMCA Early Learning Centers . As a Childcare Food Service staff, you will:

• Follow pre-established menus in accordance with state and federal regulations and, when necessary, make changes to the menu that are compliant with the food program.
• Maintain an accurate inventory of food and supplies and ensure that the kitchen is neat and organized.
• Be responsible for daily paperwork, meal counts, temperature checks, etc.
• Occasionally assist in the Early Learning Center classrooms, as needed. Must be comfortable working with children (infants to five years old).

Requirements

• At least 18 years old AND
• 6 months of food service experience
• All employees receive a free YMCA membership!

  • The employee has worked 1,000 hours during each of any two 12-month periods
  • The employee is 21 years of age or older
