Childcare Coordinator - (Senior Activity Leader)
Position Details
Location: Riverside, OH
Part-Time/Non-Exempt
$17.23-$20.68/Hour
This position works directly with children. Mad River Local Schools Before & After Care Program
Position Summary
Responsible for planning, developing, and monitoring all activities in school age and day camp programs.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old with a high school diploma or GED. An Associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education from an accredited college or university is required.
- Must obtain a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or equivalent as determined by the YMCA Childcare Branch.
- CPR/AED, First Aid, and Oxygen certifications required within the first 60 days of employment and must be kept current.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience working with children, demonstrating motivation and supervision skills. Planning and program development experience is beneficial.
- Supervision experience required.
- Previous licensed childcare experience required.
- At least 1 year of office administration and customer service experience.
- Supervisory experience preferred.
- Valid driver’s license with an insurable record; reliable transportation for various duties.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email applications.
- Ability to report suspicions of abuse or neglect to appropriate authorities.

Essential Functions
- Participate in ratio as a teacher/senior activity leader.
- Assist in planning, designing, evaluating, and implementing child care programs following YMCA and state guidelines.
- Manage program within budget constraints.
- Oversee program development, quality, and safety.
- Maintain enrollment numbers.
- Ensure compliance with Ohio Department of Job and Family Services (ODJFS) guidelines and cooperate with inspections.
- Complete necessary inspections and maintain accreditation standards (NAEYC, NAA).
- Maintain records for CACFP and grant programs.
- Ensure a clean, safe, and compliant environment.
- Ensure staff training and proper documentation.
- Develop procedures for scheduling and substitutes.
- Communicate concerns or incidents to the Program Director.
- Build relationships with members and community partners.
- Remain visible and engaged with participants.
- Recruit, train, and engage volunteers.
- Participate in program committees and events.
- Promote programs through marketing materials.
- Possess a safe driving record to transport children safely.
- Maintain confidentiality of all program-related information.
