Job summary

Vail Resorts is hiring for Winter Seasonal roles including Child Care Assistant Educator in South Lake Tahoe, CA. The role supports Lead Educators in delivering a developmentally appropriate program while ensuring safety and adherence to licensing rules.

Team collaboration and parent communication are key components of daily responsibilities. The position requires a HS diploma or GED, 1+ year child care experience, and may benefit from First Aid/CPR certification.

Qualifications

• Meet education requirements set by state licensing regulations; High School Diploma/GED and required higher education credits.
• At least 1 year of professional child care experience.
• Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Certification (recommended, but not required).
• Ability to handle a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work well with others and foster a team environment.
• Strong understanding of child development, and open to professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities

The Child Care Assistant Educator will support the Lead Educators in providing a stimulating, safe, and developmentally appropriate educational environment where children have the opportunity to develop cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. The Child Care Assistant Educator will support the Lead Educator in developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum and managing the day-to-day operational activities in the classroom. The Child Care Assistant Educator will support the Lead Educator with ensuring a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed. This position will comply with all company and department policies along with following all state licensing regulations.

Job Specifications:

• Starting Wage: $22.50/hr - $32.14/hr
• Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027
• Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities:

• Support the implementation of curriculum through classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
• Support co-teachers with the planning of individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive, emotional and physical growth.
• Support the frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports & parent-teacher conferences.
• Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
• Support co-teachers with ensuring a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards, and safety and security of children.
• Support the maintenance of accurate records, forms and files.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
• Support a positive teaching team, and a positive and welcoming environment for children and guests.

Job Requirements:

The expected pay range is$22.50/hr - $32.14/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
