Job summary

The Irving Independent School District is seeking a Baby University Aide for its child care center. This nonexempt paraprofessional role supports a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate program for children of district employees.

Key duties include supervising children, maintaining a clean and organized environment, assisting with curriculum implementation, and communicating with parents and staff.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must test negative for TB.
• Acquire and maintain current pediatric CPR, First Aid.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Two (2) years of experience working with children in a preschool or child care setting (preferred).
• Child Development Associates (CDA) or an Associate Degree in Early Childhood (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Care and supervision of a group of children at all times.
• Maintain a safe, neat and orderly environment.
• Greet and welcome parents and other approved visitors to the classroom.
• Demonstrate self-control and good judgment.
• Maintain an accurate knowledge base (Minimum Standards) and comply with state, district and school policies and regulations.
• Report suspected child abuse and neglect to the appropriate administrator and law enforcement agencies according to guidelines in the Texas Family Code.
• Participate in professional development, training, meetings and special events as needed/required.
• Assist in the implementation of assigned curriculum.
