Job summary

Irving ISD is seeking an Early Childhood Instructional Aide to support classroom teachers by assisting with instructional activities and student supervision. You will help implement programs, manage behavior, and provide individualized or small-group instruction under the teacher’s direction.

The role requires an Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate and a high school diploma or GED, with bilingual English/Spanish preferred in some settings.

Qualifications

• Educational Aide I Paraprofessional Certificate is required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred in some settings.

Responsibilities

• Work with individual students or small groups as directed by the teacher.
• Assist in delivering modified instruction for ESL students in inclusive settings.
• Assist with administration and scoring of tests and assignments.
• Supervise students throughout the day, inside and outside the classroom.
• Keep the teacher informed of students' special needs or problems.
• Assist in maintaining administrative records and required reports.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
• Assist with inventory and maintenance of classroom equipment.
• Participate in staff development and meetings as required.
• Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.
• Serve as interpreter when needed.
• Assist students with personal care activities as needed.
• Other duties assigned by Campus Principal.
