Job summary

Irving ISD seeks an Early Childhood Instructional Aide to support classroom instruction and student needs. The role involves assisting with self-help, behavior management and instructional activities under a certified teacher's direction.

Key duties include assisting ESL students, administering simple tests, and helping with materials, displays and classroom organization. Requires Educational Aide I Paraprofessional certificate and a HS diploma.

Qualifications

• Requires ability to work effectively with diverse students in a school setting.
• Must be able to communicate clearly with students, teachers and families.
• Experience using basic computer applications and office equipment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the classroom teacher to conduct instructional exercises with students.
• Support ESL students with modified instruction in inclusive settings.
• Assist with administration and scoring of objective tests and work assignments.
• Supervise students inside and outside the classroom throughout the day.
• Keep teachers informed of students' needs and progress.
• Prepare instructional materials and classroom displays.
• Assist in maintaining a neat, orderly classroom and inventory of equipment.
• Serve as an interpreter when needed and help substitute teachers.
• Participate in staff development and school events as required.
