Job summary

Irving ISD invites applications for the Baby University Lead Caregiver. You will lead childcare activities, supervise children, plan daily schedules, and ensure safety and developmentally appropriate practices. The role reports to the Baby University Director and operates within the Paraprofessional 35 pay grade.

Strong English proficiency and TDHHS-aligned training are required. The position is full-time and nonexempt, with workdays corresponding to the 193-day school calendar.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must pass a background check.
• Must test negative for TB annually.
• Acquire and maintain current pediatric CPR, First Aid.
• Must be proficient in English.
• Two (2) years of experience working with children in a preschool or child care setting (preferred).
• Child Development Associates (CDA) or an Associate's Degree in Early Childhood (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program.
• Provide and supervise nutritious snacks and lunches as directed by the Child Care Director and IISD Food Services.
• Ensure all equipment, activities, and facilities are safe, clean, and appropriate for a positive learning environment.
• Plan and implement daily schedules and lesson plans for assigned classrooms, age-appropriate and developmental considerations.
• Supervise all assigned children at all times and maintain a positive learning atmosphere.
• Communicate effectively with parents and document student progress in care management systems.
• Collaborate in planning and implementation of activities and curriculum.
• Maintain confidentiality and professional communication with all stakeholders.

Education

High School Diploma or GED

CDA or Associate Degree in Early Childhood (preferred)
