Job summary

Silverbay is seeking a Childcare Center Floater/Aide to assist with activities and provide coverage in classrooms, on the playground, during meals, and nap times. You will work under the direction of the Early Childhood Director to support learning experiences and maintain a safe environment.

The role requires a high school diploma and strong communication skills, with preferred childcare experience and the ability to obtain necessary certifications within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma is required.
• Experience in a childcare setting is preferred.
• Friendly, professional demeanor; ability to relate to children.
• Excellent communication and multitasking skills.
• Must obtain First Aid, CPR and AED within 30 days of hire; complete NYS OCFS health/safety training within 30 days.
• Ability to establish relationships with diverse groups of people.
• Proficiency in office software as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assists classroom teacher to implement learning experiences.
• Assists children in accomplishing learning activities.
• Monitors children during meals, play, and nap time.
• Provides coverage for classroom teachers as needed.
• Relieves teachers and fills in for absences as needed.
• Maintains a safe and positive learning environment.
• Participates in required trainings to meet NYS OCFS regulations.
• Performs other duties as requested.
