Job summary

Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a CYP Assistant to work directly with children and youth, keeping them engaged, safe, and active within the CYP. The role focuses on developing social skills, healthy choices, and readiness through structured activities and daily supervision.

Ideal candidates will have strong English communication, the ability to follow schedules and instructions, and prior experience with youth programs.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and complete required Navy training.
• Six months to one year of experience working with children or youth is required at higher levels.
• Background checks and pre-employment screening are required.

Responsibilities

• Develops schedules and activity plans aligned with program needs.
• Maintains and prepares indoor and outdoor activity areas and materials.
• Fosters positive interactions among children, youth, and adults using appropriate guidance.
• Provides supervision and safety oversight of participants in DoD CY programs.
• Communicates with parents and employees about program activities and child progress.
• Observes development and participates in program evaluation.
• Maintains compliance with DoD and local installation policies.
• Performs additional related duties as assigned.
