Job summary

Navy Region Southeast Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a CYP Cook to perform a variety of food preparation and service tasks in a CDC environment, with possible assistance to SAC programs. You will prep and cook meals following recipes, monitor temperatures, and ensure proper food storage and sanitation.

The role requires adherence to DoD youth program standards, background checks, and the ability to work in a team to deliver nutritious meals for children and staff.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food handling techniques and personal hygiene
• Understanding sanitation standards to prevent contamination
• Ability to develop and modify recipes for large quantities
• Effective English communication, both written and spoken
• Strong time management and coordination in a busy kitchen
• Capability to manage multiple cooking processes simultaneously

Responsibilities

• Prepare all types of meats, poultry, seafood, vegetables, sauces, and gravies.
• Cook, season, and portion food for meals using standardized recipes and plan cooking procedures.
• Coordinate preparation of entire meals to meet serving times and temperatures.
• Monitor temperatures and adjust cooking to ensure quality and safety.
• Label, store, and date items; unload supplies as needed.
• Comply with security, fire, and sanitation rules and CACFP standards.
