Job summary

Navy Region Northwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) is seeking a Child and Youth Program Food Service Worker to perform a variety of food preparation and service tasks within a CDC setting, with potential support for the School Age Care (SAC) program.

The role requires adherence to sanitation standards, background checks, and the ability to lift up to 40 pounds, along with maintenance of CACFP compliance and effective English communication.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of food handling techniques and hygiene standards.
• Ability to measure ingredients and understand recipes.
• Arithmetic to determine servings and quantities.
• Working knowledge of diet principles.
• Sanitation standards to prevent contamination and proper cleaning.
• Clear, effective English communication, both written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Assist in food preparation by peeling potatoes, cutting vegetables, assembling sandwiches, and weighing ingredients.
• Stock food service carts with utensils, dishes, and beverages for family-style dining.
• Transport food from kitchen to classrooms or activity areas and wrap items for serving.
• Maintain kitchen areas, operate dishwashing equipment, and perform routine cleaning.
