Job summary

El Paso County's Department of Human Services seeks a supervisor for the 0–3 Permanency Team. You will lead caseworkers supporting infants and families through reunification and permanency planning, collaborating with Well Baby Court and community partners.

You will guide teams through complex cases involving substance use, domestic violence, abuse, and neglect, ensuring safe, stable, nurturing environments for children while maintaining a flexible schedule and on-call rotation.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from a higher education institution with course work related to child welfare social caseworker responsibilities.
  • Three years of professional, internship, or volunteer work experience in a human service-related agency.
  • Master’s degree or higher in a social work or human behavioral sciences field; and,
  • Two years of professional, internship, or volunteer work experience in a human services related agency may substitute for the required experience.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises assigned caseworkers, case services aides, and administrative support staff and conducts unit meetings.
  • Communicates the unit's mission and oversees workflow and case assignments.
  • Participates in staffing, court hearings, reviews, and family meetings; decides and recommends case plans.
  • Leads weekly unit meetings and coordinates staff training as needed.
  • Ensures compliance with federal, state, and county laws, rules, and regulations; reviews case plans.
  • Reviews, edits, and approves unit correspondence and reports.
  • Acts as liaison to community professionals, clients, other agencies, the courts, and the public.
